Amicable solutions between the conflict parties are the aim of mediation procedures. The role of the mediator cannot be compared with the role of the adjudicator or the conciliator. The mediator exactly does not have any power to make a decision, but serves as a neutral third party in order to render the conflict more objective and steer the parties towards an amicable solution. The mediator does not provide any technical or legal evaluations. If the parties independently find a solution this way, this can be particularly valuable in ongoing business relations in view of future projects.
